About the Role
The Capital Procurement, BioSolutions Business Partner leads strategic sourcing and procurement activities supporting Primient’s BioSolutions capital projects and growth initiatives.
This highly autonomous individual contributor role partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, and project teams to develop sourcing strategies, run competitive sourcing events, select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and support successful project execution.
The role is responsible for procurement of capital equipment, engineering and construction services, technology, and other project-related spend. It also supports acquisitions, joint ventures, and EDA/government-funded initiatives, ensuring procurement activities meet applicable compliance and documentation requirements.
The successful candidate will bring strong capital procurement and strategic sourcing experience, commercial judgment, and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business and supplier network.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Projects & Strategic Sourcing
Lead procurement and strategic sourcing for BioSolutions CAPEX projects, capital equipment, engineering, construction, technology, and related services
Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with project timelines, business priorities, cost, quality, and risk
Lead RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, competitive bidding, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations
Negotiate and manage contracts, service agreements, and commercial terms
Business & Supplier Partnership
Serve as the primary procurement partner for BioSolutions capital projects and growth initiatives
Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, and project teams throughout planning and execution
Build and manage strategic supplier relationships focused on performance, value, innovation, and supply continuity
Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and total-cost-of-ownership opportunities
Growth & Government-Funded Projects
Support procurement activities for acquisitions, joint ventures, PDO, and future BioSolutions investments
Support EDA and other government-funded projects, including sourcing documentation, compliance, reimbursement, and audit requirements
Procurement Excellence
Identify procurement process improvements and opportunities to reduce commercial and supply risk
Ensure sourcing and contracting activities comply with Primient procurement policies and governance requirements
About You
Knowledge
Strategic sourcing and procurement for capital projects, equipment, engineering services, and construction
End-to-end sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance
Experience supporting CAPEX projects in manufacturing, chemicals, food ingredients, biotech, or related industries
Supplier relationship, commercial, and risk management
Strong cross-functional partnership with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, and project teams
Financial analysis, total cost of ownership, and value creation
Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Government-funded project or EDA experience preferred
Required and Preferred Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or a related field
Preferred
Experience supporting capital projects in manufacturing, chemicals, food ingredients, biotechnology, life sciences, or a similar environment
Experience with government-funded or EDA-supported capital projects
MBA or other advanced degree
CPSM, C.P.M., MCIPS, PMP, or similar professional certification
Total Rewards
The annual pay range estimated for this position is $108,036.00 - $135,045.00 and is bonus eligible.
Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities.
