Role Description: The iPROOF - Bioeconomy Development Intern will provide direct support to the iPROOF project team during its build and commissioning phase in Decatur. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be a part of a new and innovative project from the ground up. The intern will contribute to the technical aspects of the project with additional opportunities to contribute to the related business development effort, gaining a holistic view of bringing a new venture to life.
Additional housing stipend from $1,500 to $3,000 depending on work and candidate's location.
Key Projects & Responsibilities:
- Assist in equipment qualification to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
- Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various processes.
- Assist in the development of Process Control Description/Narrative
- Assist in day-to-day construction activities
- Support business development activities under the guidance of Business Development Director.
- Report directly to the iPROOF General Manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be engaged in an active biotechnology-related degree program.
- Have an understanding of precision/industrial fermentation and common downstream processing unit ops (referencing UIUC College of ACES and IBRL facility as an example).
- Strong math, science, and computer skills are required.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, project-based environment.
