About the Role
The purpose of aProduction Coordinator Supervisorin a citric acid manufacturing plant is to oversee andoptimizethe production process to ensure efficient and safe operations while meeting quality and output targets. This role involves coordinating between various departments, including production, quality control, maintenance, andlogistics, to streamline workflows and resolve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. The supervisoris responsible formonitoring production schedules, managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and minimize waste.Ultimately, thegoal is to achievea high levelof operational efficiency whilemaintainingproduct quality and adhering to regulatory standards.

Basic Job Skills
Safety
Identifyand resolve unsafe conditions
Perform weekly/daily process audits
Ensure area is beingoperatedsafely by technicians
Ensure interlocks are active and add more where needed
Ensure proper housekeeping and cGMP requirements are met in the area
Supply work lists (Gameplans) to the shift teams for areas of improvement and follow-up
Take the lead on management of change, process safetymanagementand risk assessment in respective areas
Environment
Know the impact ofareaon wastewater treatment and work to minimize load. Activelysolicitideas to improve environmental performance and work with engineers and management to implement these.
Process Troubleshooting/Optimization
Lead troubleshooting of significant process upsets and problems
Work with engineers,plantAreaResourcesand area technicians to resolve operational challenges
Make improvements to enable a more efficient operation
Initiate program changes,alarmand interlock revisions through narrative writing
Participate in Root Cause &correctiveAnalysis (RCCA) as needed in the plant. This includes assisting in the implementation of changes/completion of the action items associated with the RCCA.
Quality and Yield
Track the quality and yield performance daily to ensureoptimumoperatingcondition. Ensure corrective actions are taken by the shift team.
Production Management
Lead / supervise / develop the area operators
Manage ratesthroughthe area
Know the production targets and position the area to achieve them in the most efficient way. This may require working with upstream and downstream areas todeterminebest operating strategies.
Target completion of daily game plans to ensure jobs are executed on the assigned shift
Training
Support in providing technicians with technical trainingofthe existing or new processes.
Review training documents and safe work procedures to ensure documents are updated with the changes in the plant as requested.
Be involved in thetechnicianprogression evaluation and qualification system.
Be a resource fortechniciansArea Resources and engineers in both process specific information andgood useof operations fundamentals.
Reliability
Assistin performing periodic equipment criticality analysis and work with the team to follow through on action items initiated
Help foster an “operator ownership” mentality in relation to equipment performance, upkeep, and monitoringin order tostrengthen the plant’s reliability performance
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform the following tasks safely:
Lifting ofup to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.
Use of hand tools above shoulders
Useof walk-behindpallet jacks
Use of forklift,scissorliftand other PIE
Work in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment.
Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE)
Climbing up and down ladders
Working at heights 20’ and more
Working in hot areas and climates for extendedtimes
Working in cold climates for extended times
Handling chemicals properly
About You
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or 10+ years of applicable experience and GED/HS diploma
Ideally. extensive experience in operations supervision within the food, food additive, or chemical manufacturing industry, focusing on personnel development and process optimization.
In-depth knowledge of food or chemical manufacturing processes, food safety regulations, and industry standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with quality control and food safety certifications (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC) and project management methodologies is a plus.
Ability to work with computers (Windows, Office).
Goodorganizationskills.
Must be willing to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary
Total Rewards
The annual pay range estimated for this position is $68,880.00 - $86,100.00 and is bonus eligible.
